I do want to note that although I don't believe it was in a timely manner at all, the staff did respond once or twice.
Again, I think that that was just talking about code and not a satisfactory answer at all, but what we were limited with.

First, I need to understand this de novo process, because if I'm understanding, we hear this matter anew, but we're taking action on the Planning Council's former decision.
So is that, City Attorney, will we be able to discuss the Planning Commission's decision if we truly are looking at this brand new?

So I do want to acknowledge the frustration of the residents here.
And I do think this is a great opportunity to acknowledge where
I don't know that as a new council member, I understood the implications that this would have on the residents coming into this.
So the first thing I want to know about, one of the big and egregious things that happened during this process is while we put this on hold, nobody could enforce anything.
And so because it wasn't agendized quickly, we let this linger.
And the only answer that we could offer the community was until this is handled, we don't get to do anything.
And I would like to note that when these things are brought to us, it would be helpful.
Again, and maybe it was and I just didn't know it.
