But um
I'm very excited for the weekend to get a proper run at it.
And um I'll touch on it a little bit in today's episode, but you won't hear my full thoughts till the end of next week's episode.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
I mean, we have a lot of listeners from all different backgrounds where there's naturally a crossover with people who play games because everyone here is a nerd.
But that doesn't mean that necessarily everyone understands the current gaming landscape.
So I suppose we can do a quick run through of what that looks like right now, just for those who aren't aware.
I mean this probably isn't news to people that there's three big console makers that most parents or non-gamers might be familiar with.
I know there's a lot of parent gamers now, uh aged millennials, but
I'm on the young millennials side.
I'm ambiguous.
It's like I'm I'm Gen Z passing.
Um so yeah, you have Microsoft who make the Xbox, Sony, who make the PlayStation, and then Nintendo who have made the Game Boy and the Wii, and then also their current uh console, which is the Switch.
So since 2000 or the early 2000s, the game and landscape has become a lot more competitive.
These different companies are trying to outdo each other and bring in new tech.
Along the way, and some of this has been good.
You have online gaming and you have like the development of wireless peripherals, controllers, headsets, keyboards, like that kind of stuff.
Um, VR has been brought into gaming, and as I've previously said on this podcast, it's so fun.
And then, like most people who play games know that.
