And so as we work together with the league, with the partners to construct the right partnership
This was not a surprise to us, and therefore we were prepared, ready, willing, and able to contribute more than a billion one uh in capital uh into this ballpark uh as part of this project, and doing so alongside with the county and city.
And I could tell you Major League Baseball will be right there with us to confirm uh not only the wherewithal of the group, but I think more importantly than that, the quality of character and individuals that are the
the right group for Tampa Bay to move this project forward after nearly two decades.
So ready, willing, able, qualified and resourced uh and um and couldn't be prouder of it.
We we we couldn't have had, you know, and continue to have incredible support from the league.
In fact, I'm actually not aware of a ballpark project where a commissioner and a gov governor have have appeared in an event together that isn't a groundbreaking.
That isn't a groundbreaking yet.
Uh but I I will say this the league has been phenomenal.
This commissioner has publicly stated the importance and hopes
That this franchise continues here in Tampa Bay and has set it on the record really even before uh we took ownership of the team and has really doubled down on his uh you know and and on his intent.
But I but I will tell you uh, you know, as it relates to the gap, uh, you know, there's there's a public-private partnership that needs to come together.
All the parties are well intended uh here on the ground doing that work.
That's really not a
process that MLB uh you know certainly they're monitoring and we talk to them you know virtually every day updating them on our process the league has been a terrific resource to us because they want to see baseball succeed here but but but you know the the the negotiation and um back and forth has happened in good faith and good partnership right here on the ground you know um just a few blocks I think from where you're recording right now
Right now and and meetings are happening all day, even into to tonight with city council.
So i i for folks listening, you should feel good about the folks that are at the table, both from the race side, the city side, the county side.
Uh these are folks that want to make this happen and are doing everything working through weekends, nights, holidays to make this a reality and um and we are too.
Yeah, I I continue to feel confident that all parties are working towards a May MOU, a memorandum of understanding.
Um, you know, sometimes uh in the media, and and you guys know this, particularly in the world of you know, uh information as it as it sort of comes out, it it it is oftentimes a couple of days old.
