My thing about the manager, part of the reason why I feel sorry for him is he has had a load of adversity and the season has offered up sepach after sepach after sepach after sepach.
But part of what, I think there's a couple of things for me in terms of what made this position almost untenable.
And I think there was an element of, I think with a lot of managers, they have a way of playing and they've got to explain quite fucking difficult tactics to a group of 20-odd-year-old divvies, ultimately.
Yeah, and the problem with that is that's great when you're giving them these tactics and they work and you win.
That level of authority fucking disappears quite quickly when you're telling a squad of 20 lads, just do this and you'll probably win.
You don't win and you get beat.
And I think there was points throughout this season where you're seeing almost like an open rebellion from certainly the crowd, but also some of the players.
Like Jones doesn't play for maybe...

just being lost and that ability to get across that coherent message that everyone buys into, being lost.
The reason why I said I've got sympathy for him is that's not necessarily his fault.
A lot of stuff that happens this season isn't necessarily his fault.
And you can understand that sort of belief in himself and that ability to get this group back up to where they need to be.

As much as you'd like to be able to give them the opportunity to redo it, I'm not saying that's my belief, by the way, but I sort of understand the essence behind it.
But for me, I also just think Liverpool's just not looked like a fun place to be for a year since Diogo's died.
And I think when something as severe and as grave and as sort of with such gravitas happens...
It's very fucking difficult to just go, stop.
