I was singing with more confidence.

I think I felt more confident, and I think that that equality of spirit kind of just manifested itself there.

It wasn't anything outside the band.

And, but the one thing we knew we needed was, um, up until then, Epic had chosen the producer.

And the producers were always, like, highly pedigreed guys.

You know, uh... You know, uh... Simzik.

Bill Simzik from the Eagles.

Big, big names.

But for whatever reason, it just never quite... Just never quite worked with us.

Maybe we were a little slower than these guys wanted.

I don't know what it was, but Gary and I made up our minds that we were going to produce the album.

Interesting.

Because we just figured nobody knows this band better than us.

Every producer we had, we would go in with songs, but by the time the album was done, it was like, that's not what we want the song to sound like.

Well, by the time we finally got to that point, it was a live album.

Peter Frampton had come out with his live album and suddenly- But you love the music business.
