And if you really delve into the numbers, performance is one part, but the costs and fees are a second part.

Sorry, the index fund.

The index fund is not passive.

So again, we're talking about like the S&P 500, you know, the MSC World Index, the Russell Index.

So if you see the index in the name, that's automatically passive.

Exactly, yeah.

So maybe we'll just go through the factors and then think about like what are some of the pieces to look out for.

The first one is that it's passive.

A second one is, I'll just jump to this, it's the cost, right?

When you're looking at the investment sheet, it's called the total expense ratio or TER.

On something like the S&P 500, you know, like it's like 0.1%.

You should never pay above 0.2%, okay?

So if we had to do a comparison between that and an actively managed fund, you're much closer to 1%, five times more expensive.

That's right.

That's what you're paying for.

And, you know, you're paying them, you know, behind the scenes.

And I've sat in a room and asked them to explain it.

They can justify it with this trading cost.
