There's a lot of different reasons why it's more expensive.

But, yeah, look, the cost is really important, particularly when you're starting out.

Cost is paramount.

Exactly.

So if you think about it every year, the fee on the fund is deducted from the growth.

So the lower the fee makes an enormous difference.

And like I said, historically, there's not a lot of evidence to suggest that it's worth paying the fee.

Okay.

In fact, the opposite.

That's actually a really good point.

And I think it's maybe more relevant now.

So far, I've talked a lot about the S&P 500.

And it's because it's the most widely discussed index fund and the most simple and easiest to understand.

So generally, people are familiar with the household names like the Alphabets or Googles and the Metas and NVIDIA, et cetera.

But let's just think about how an index fund works really, right?

So if you put in 100 euro today,

39, if you're maybe 30 or 39, if you're 100 euro, goes to the top 10 companies.

Right.

Why is that?

It is market cap weighted.
