Such a fun perk of being on the Bears beat for so long has been getting to know the people who I've followed and listened to for years.
And that includes Waddle and Sylvie.
You can listen to them every day from 2 to 6 p.m.
in Chicago and check them out with their Bears game day coverage.
Waddle is on Twitter at TWaddle87 and Sylvie is at Waddle and Sylvie.
Thank you to our producer, Mark Schach, and thank you for listening.
You can follow me on Twitter and Blue Sky at kfishbane and on Instagram at kevinfishbane.
Our sponsor, the NSMA, is on Twitter at NSMA Sports Media.
You can follow my Chicago Bears coverage at The Athletic to learn the latest from training camp, and we'll talk to you next week.
Hey, everyone.
Welcome to Breaking In with Kevin Fishbane, brought to you by the National Sports Media Association.
This is the podcast that tells the origin stories of your favorite sports media personalities.
It's episode 69, and my guest is Adam Schein, host of Schein on Sports weekday mornings on Sirius Mad Dog Radio and Schein Time weekday afternoons on YouTube for the New York Post.
You can also see his in-game updates this fall on the NFL on CBS.
Long before his 20-plus years talking sports, Shine debated sports with his brother, grew up playing baseball, and realized as a kid that he had a distinct voice.
Shine went to Syracuse, the place for broadcasters, but mainly play-by-play broadcasters.
He made it a point to have a talk show.
You'll hear how that led to opportunities at WFAN, the legendary station in New York, and his first solo hosting gig, which he'll never forget, coming off the Big East Tournament.
Shine's voice is unlike anyone else's.
You'll hear how that came to be and how it's impacted his career and the advice he got from a teacher about sticking to that voice and never changing it.
