This is not necessarily related to yesterday, but if we look at Trey Savage long term, how important do you think it'll be for him to figure out a fourth pitch because everything does move the same way right now?
Like the fastball rises, but the slider and the splitter both kind of come back the other way.
He doesn't have anything that really moves glove side.
I don't know how to what extent that would help with a situation like yesterday versus it just gives you another option.
But is that something you would be looking at for him long term?
I always look at Verlander with him because Verlander is the guy who's had the high arm slot forever and has had extended success, and he's got the slow curve that he can drop in there as well.

If the Padres come out on the weekend and they lay off everything other than the fastball as well, like then you're suddenly you're like a, a 94 mile an hour fastball guy.
And like, yeah, it's got, you know, good induced vertical break on it and stuff like that.
But it's a, you know, you're not living as a, as a 60% of the time, 94 mile an hour fastball.

And then you see what the tell is, and the pitcher completely changes his delivery and tucks his entire arm in before a curveball.
It's like, oh yeah, that would take a 47-year-old veteran to pick up on the guy doing completely different preset mechanics.
There was a great story in Tim Brown's Nolan Ryan book that people used to think it was weird that Nolan Ryan would like occasionally like have his tongue out a little bit or like his mouth open on some pitches.
And it turns out that like that was for the changeup.
