People would come to the games.

But, you know, one team coming to your building has a payroll of $95 million, and you have a payroll of $35 million.

I think even the start to stand eventually gets to the point saying, we just can't compete.

I mean, there's too big of a gap.

And so that lockout was really – the Oilers were the poster child of that lockout, and Cal was a big part of it because, I tell you –

There was a lot of heavy hitters in those rooms having those discussions, and they did not want to share their money.

And in order to do the new deal, you know, they had to have some...

some understanding and some sympathy for a market like Edmonton, where it has great fans, great tradition, some of the greatest players ever played the game, but they couldn't afford to compete in that same world.

And then, lo and behold, we're set down for a year, and we come back the very next year with a new system, the one that we said would help us a lot to be more competitive, and we went to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

So I don't think you can write the script any better than that.

Cal and the executive, I'll speak to the executive of VIG, where I spent more time with them and not too in-depth conversations about the team, but certainly they were very encouraging to think out of the box.

And with the organization, I mean, Cal was a great... He was really a great ambassador for the game because he's, again, so engaging, so open, so interested in what people have to say.

You know, he and I would sit there and maybe have a glass of wine because Cal liked red wine.

And people would come up to both of us and inevitably shake hands.
