They had to get this orbit absolutely correct.
Right, OK.
come back to Earth.
But they wouldn't have heard a thing.
It would have been absolute silence until they'd fired those burns.
And then I don't even know if they'd hear anything at all.
I'm sure the capsule is so audio insulated, maybe a little murmur.
But this is what most people don't realize as well.
When we send, for example, a space probe to Mars, we burn fuel to get away from Earth.
And then it has none left.
It's just because there's no air, so there's no friction, so it doesn't slow down.
So they were just traveling on a free, literally fuel-less journey out a quarter of a million kilometers there and back.
Yeah, well, I mean, look, first of all, I'll say is the Artemis program is bigger than that in that as much as it is to get people down onto the moon.
In fact, up until Jared Isaacman became the actual NASA administrator a few months ago, the plan was to build a lunar space station around the moon called Lunar Gateway.
That is actually being constructed right now, including by European Space Agency had put over a billion dollars into building the habitats for that.
And that's now been canceled.
So there was a huge program to put a space station around the moon for astronauts to dock with that and then go from there down to the moon's surface.
But they're now scrapping Lunar Gateway.
So there's a rewrite of the Artemis program happening right now.
And the reason is the Chinese really do mean to get there by 2030.
