Well, one of the key things is, as far as the different types of participants we'll see in a stablecoin environment, and I've already mentioned it, is the issuer.
And the issuer is an entity that is going to be able to issue a stablecoin so that we know, hey, here's a coin.
This is who it's backed by and what it's worth.
And a lot of people are thinking we'll all be issuers.
And the reality is I don't see it that way.
And if you want further proof more than just the payments professor says it, we saw some documentation coming out last month, FDIC, OCC, talking about what the process would look like or they expect it to look like on applying to become an issuer.
And if you read through it, there is commentary that even suggests they expect no more than about 10 issuers at most in the first year to come forward.
that's that's not a lot that's not like everybody actually doing it if we actually look today before we get into the genius act being legal and all that but we look today and what's happening globally there's really two main issuers circle and tether that are out there tether i wonder if it'll have success in the us because it is chinese backed but it's the biggest one globally
Circle, they're in the headlines galore right now because another reason I don't think there'll be a lot of issuers is there have been public statements made, news articles released to where organizations like Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America, and other large financial institutions have said, we're going to go with Circle instead of saying we're going to issue our own.
They've already said they're going to go with Circle.
So that to me helps point towards
Will there be several coins?
Yes.
But will it be to where there's one for every institution?
No.
Oh, wow.
The odd one out on that one is I'm going to go with ISO.
And the biggest reason being AI and agentic payments is a huge another area we're seeing happening in the industry right now.
And I'm a firm believer that agentic payments will use stablecoins.
It just makes so much sense being across a blockchain, the smart contract capability that those two are going to be tied together.
