What speed leaderboards were you referring to?
No, I I I I uh actually agree with that statistic.
That was something that I took a lot of pride in.
I wasn't necessarily the fastest guy in terms of feet per second or miles per hour or however you kind of grayed out speed on the base pass, but I felt like I was a very smart, aggressive base runner.
I took a lot of pride in taking, you know, really good routes on the base pass too, you know, having and
I I think that's something with base running is you don't have to be the fastest.
It certainly helps to be fast, but I think if you have good instincts, you round the bases correctly.
Um, you have an understanding of where your outfielders are.
Uh the anticipation on the base pass is something that it's hard to quantify.
So the fact that I was on that leaderboard, um, I do agree with it.
Yeah, I mean, uh as a defender, it's uh uh you know, he grades out well above average, if not elite right now.
Um, especially on the balls coming in side to side.
Um, we didn't really get into the nuts and bolts and the details of exactly what he's kind of thinking out there.
We kind of went through his pre pitch a little bit.
Um, and he it was interesting because being a young guy.
Um, kind of coming up in this analytical era uh with everything being so quantifiable.
Uh, he was smart enough to ask the questions like how do I improve on X, Y, and Z when he was uh with the Cubs uh in the minor leagues and talked to some of their uh you know advanced metrics people.
He talked to some of their you know outfield rovers, got to spend a lot of time with PCA.
Um, so he he understands how.
