And so I recognized that I needed to create something independent.
So I was no longer reliant on these big media companies because of the way their sort of hiring policies and workflow was shifting.
We actually started Engel Magazine, I gotta think, 2010 Olympics.
And I don't get all the credit here.
David Hutchison, who's on Vancouver Island, founded it, started it.
It originally started just sort of as a hobby, masks and things around the game that fascinated him as a goaltender.
Um, and I had, I was working for Ian Clark in the goalie news.
And when that folded, I had nowhere to go with sort of this, all these things I'd learned.
And I connected with David Hutchison on the Island and it's like, Hey, we've got 2010 Olympics coming up.
I'm going to have some unique stories that I don't get to tell with my other outlets.
Do we want to see how this goes?
And the traffic just went.
