I don't talk to Thatcher.

I haven't talked to him, so I don't know what's going on in terms of it.

This is not inside information.

But much like you, Matt, your spies at Northlands, you get on the ice in Vancouver as a goaltender, and I'm going to hear about it.

And so the session he posted about, there were other sessions.

I won't say the rink because I don't want people lining up to try and watch or spy or get autographs.

um but i had people at that rink uh i think it was the following week tell me that you know marco terrenius was in town was out there with him as well as uh with the rehab uh specialist the knox staffer um i apologize just brain cramp on the name there um butterflies on the ice like this isn't just skating gingerly like that that pat back is has started in earnest um

Having your hips done is not unique to goaltenders.

It's become a bit of a boutique surgery.

When I helped do the research for the original Sports Illustrated article on this more than a decade ago, we found 12- and 13-year-olds having it.

Thatcher's had it once before.

That's the unique part.

I still haven't been able to find any other goalies that have had it done twice and had both hits done twice.

But ignoring that part, because there's just uncertainty I don't know.

Quite often it's like, this is an overstatement, hyperbole, it's harder than this, but it's like a lube job.

Like it's like you get an oil change and everything works better.

And so, so often hip problems manifest in groin and knee and all the other things that have to compensate for that lack of internal rotation.

and the fact that he's been able to fix that like this might be the hard reset obviously they're hopeful it is we don't know i understand the skepticism but a lot of people close to him are telling me that they're really positive early returns and that this could be the reset that

takes the stress off the groins, which then takes the stress off the knees.

And, you know, I mean, there's been knee surgeries on both sides.
