On a kitchen table in a quiet country town, the place guards for a wedding sit have finished.
100 guests, a country vineyard booked, a first dance already chosen and rehearsed.
The bride, a 26-year-old school teacher named Stephanie Scott, was six days away from marrying the man
that she loved since they were teenagers.
She stepped out that Easter Sunday to finish a few small things before the big day, and she never came home.
And by the time anyone understood what had happened to her, her wedding day would arrive with no bride, no vows, and a killer already sitting quietly among the people searching for her.
Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
And if you have never been here before, I am Kimberlea.
It's nice to finally meet you.
This today is another deep dive.
So if you're the type of person that wants to go beyond the headlines and get way more detail in a true crime case, this is the type of video for you.
And to understand how a town lost Stephanie, we have to go back to the night before anyone even knew she was missing.
And also, I'm going to do my best with pronouncing all of these locations because this case does take place in Australia.
So please be kind.
Now, it is Easter Sunday, April 5th of 2015 in Leighton, which is a small farming town in New South Wales, Australia, which is about six hours southwest of Sydney.
Stephanie's fiancé, Aaron Leeson Woolley, is driving home after a weekend away, and he's been trying to reach Stephanie the entire time.
But there's no answer.
Now, he isn't worried yet, because she had a hundred things on her mind with their wedding only six days away.
But when he pulls up to their house, just after 7.20pm, it's completely dark.
Her Mazda is not there.
