Well, an organization called the Pink Ladies, which specializes in missing people, puts together a reward and posters, and her face starts moving across the city on Facebook, Twitter, by text, by social, everywhere.
And the family puts up a reward as well.
It starts at 50,000 rand, and this is the currency in South Africa, which is approximately $3,000 in the United States.
And as the day goes on and the post is spread and strangers start pitching in, that reward climbs.
It triples to 150,000 rands, so about $9,000.
Everyday people are donating money with the hope that someone knows something and that money is going to shake it loose.
A hashtag even catches on and spreads.
It was hashtag enough is enough.
Because this is a woman taken from outside her own front gate in broad daylight.
And that is the exact fear that a whole city carries around every single day in this area.
And here it was happening to someone they knew.
Now, I know I really didn't tell you much about this location, and I am very keen on understanding exactly where something like this takes place.
I think it actually will broaden our understanding.
