And in the middle of all that grief, moving through it, was this husband who just lost his wife.
Chris put his business on hold.
He stayed with Jade's family night after night.
He was there at their house grieving along with them.
He spoke with Tony at the kitchen table about the things that people were starting to say about him online because there were rumors and there always are.
The husband is usually the first person that's going to be suspicious.
And Tony felt really sorry for Chris more than she even felt for herself.
She sat up with him.
She comforted him.
because he was family to her, and he was hurting.
A Facebook page called Prayers for Jave Pinayotu was put up, and one of the admins said that everyone thought a stranger did this for money, and that was the motivating factor, while others really did point the finger at Chris.
They said he was responsible because he was the husband, and if the shoe fits, right?
People always side-eye the husband.
And one reason is because, well, apparently Chris was on Facebook all the time that people were looking for Jade, but he never posted anything.
He didn't ask for help or to find her.
It was only after she was found that he changed his profile picture to a photo of the two of them.
So people looked at it and they were like, that's kind of weird.
But it's also hard because there's many reasons why people do the things that they do.
If he's in the middle of looking for his wife, does he even have time to post on Facebook about what's going on?
