So with that guy out of the picture, who was really involved?
By this point, the case had that lead investigator, Captain Swanepoel, and he was running a task force.
And because this case was everywhere, informants were coming to the police on their own.
When a story like this is this big, people start talking.
And on Monday, the 27th of April, six days after Jade disappeared, someone was already saying something.
A call came in, and the tip was two names, and I'm going to try my absolute best.
There was Lutondo Sione, and his nickname was Tondo, so that's what I'm going to be calling him.
And then there was his girlfriend, a woman named Babawa Breakfast.
Yes, hard to pronounce.
But the tip was very specific.
This man had been going around reportedly, allegedly, talking to people and asking them whether they would be willing to kill someone and whether they knew someone who would if they wouldn't do it.
Now, was this related?
Well, the informants thought it could be.
So the detectives went out on the night of the 27th and they found Tondo and his girlfriend and they brought them in for questioning.
Now, they did put them in two separate rooms and Tondo wasn't talking, but his girlfriend was.
Now, she hadn't just heard about the murder, she said.
This wasn't something secondhand.
She admitted she was involved in the mechanics of it and that her boyfriend Tondo had been hired to do it.
So, of course, they go into the other room.
