And then, of course, there was Christopher,
Jade met Christopher Panagiotou in 2004 at a party through mutual friends, and they were both 18 at the time.
He was studying business, and he came from a big, well-known Greek family in Port Elizabeth that ran all kinds of shops around the city, and they hit it off fast.
Charisse remembers that when the two of them got together, everyone kind of thought that Jade had hit the jackpot because he was everything.
He was ambitious.
He was always thinking a few steps ahead, always the one with a plan in place for everything, and they dated for the better part of a decade.
And then Christopher proposed in 2012.
And in June of 2013, they got married in this Greek Orthodox church in front of 300 guests.
This was a very big, beautiful Greek wedding, almost like a fairytale wedding.
Now, Jade's family was Catholic, and the Greek Orthodox wedding was a compromise, but it was one that she was genuinely happy to make because she wanted to be married to Christopher.
And Charisse stood up with her as a bridesmaid, and in the photos, everyone is just smiling and having a great time, both families side by side, united.
And Jade's family loved Chris.
Tony thought of him like a brother.
The family spent time together on the holidays, at dinners, and it was just the whole blended picture.
This young couple coming together and the whole thing was just mapped out ahead of them.
The way that you do when you're with someone that you're sure about.
They knew what they wanted in life and they wanted the same thing.
They wanted to travel.
They wanted to run businesses together.
They wanted to pay off their cars, move out of their townhouse into a bigger home, and start a family.
