And really dug in their heels to do the work.

I'm I'm not gonna lie, I begged and I pleaded uh six years ago and Frances who's a busy attorney and has a lot on her plate was more than happy to step up and do the work and I just wanna acknowledge Francis and Dee Smith called in earlier and all the other board members, past, present.

Um I just really wanna say I recognize very much what we're asking for volunteers to deliver

in the way of services to our community.

This isn't a uh a capacity that a paid member of city staff could serve in.

So having them give so you guys don't know how many hours I'm talking early mornings and late nights.

to keep the structure afloat.

And when there were things going on that were I mean, the building is old, uh and it has issues, uh pretty persistent issues sometimes.

And the truth of the matter, to Francis's point, it's not sexy work, uh but it's gotta get done.

And sometimes it's gotta get done in the quiet, um, so that we can make sure that we don't

uh paint our very important community assets in a negative light and also so we get the work done uh without there being uh much fanfare, if you will.

And so I just like to say

In continuation, uh, after recognizing those folks uh and their stewardship and how it helped to ensure the maintenance of the facility, I'd also like to say uh their most valuable role today is being the community voice.

We can't hear from everybody all at once, but having a diverse board offers us the opportunity to hear those diverse voices.

I think we should listen to the board when it says where they can be the most effective.

And I'm really grateful that we have an entity like an ACME to uh be the steward for these resources moving forward.

Ultimately I know that the partnerships are gonna be stronger.

It's reassuring to hear that Kim over at the Millennium feels like

the partnerships are gonna be stronger.

I have one question that can absolutely be answered offline, director means or otherwise, just wanting to know what the transition's gonna look like and make sure everybody's fully prepared um to serve in whatever capacity is is best for us to make it as turnkey as possible and to respect the work that's been done to date.
