All three of them are there.
The other really interesting point is that meso-xanthan has the highest antioxidant capacity of any of the dietary carotenoids that humans eat.
And our bodies strategically place it in that central foveal area, which has the highest metabolic capacity.
need of any tissue in the mammalian world so I think that is extraordinary I mean you can't really like you can't argue how special and spectacular that is really and so the importance of mesozoanthin is very very clear and there's some interesting animal model research looking at
some of the undercurrent reasons as to why not everyone can utilize the dominant dietary carotenoid, which is lutein, and stereoisomerize it into the zeaxanthin isomer, mesozeaxanthin.
But we do know that it has to do with a specific enzyme that is supposed to be hosted in the RPE, and it's referred to as RP65.
And based on the data that exists at this time, it's estimated that roughly 20% of people don't have the RP65 enzyme.
Why are you guys laughing?
So anyway, based on the data that exists, as it exists now, it's estimated that about 20% of the global population lacks this enzyme.
And so what happens with those patients is that when you present them with lutein in their diet, in their blood, and it's dominantly lutein, the body doesn't do anything with it.
And the lutein doesn't even increase in the retina.
So like the nutrients, it's almost like the RPE does not know what to do with just lutein when RPE65 is missing.
And they found that there was one experimental trial, which was like the first.
Oh, my gosh.
This was like...
This was the baby trial that Mackey Health was first used in.
And that was called the Atypical Central Profiles Project.
And it was this piece of research awarded Professor John Nolan, like all of these millions of euros of dollars to continue his research.
And that sort of turned into the meso-xanthanocular supplementation trials, which was phenomenal.
eight head-to-head clinical trials that were peer-reviewed and published over a series they looked at a lot of different things but but the gist of it essentially is that like these people that don't have this enzyme don't respond to a lutein intervention they don't respond to an intervention with lutein and zeaxanthin but if you give them all three carotenoids that that
