I did.

I had to have life-saving surgery.

So because of the technology back then, ultrasounds and everything like that weren't very good.

So no one knew what was coming.

I literally bled out from my mum.

She was knocked out in a normal hospital.

I was taken to Great Ormond Street and then given surgery to survive.

Many surgeries to survive, really.

Yeah, it is.

And...

As I grew up, I didn't want to show off my body.

I was very much a tomboy.

I lived on a council estate, so my mum would chuck me out on my bike and I'd be in my jeans and my T-shirt, rolling around in the dirt.

So no one would know any different.

And then any sport activities, I'd always make sure I'd covered up so no one really saw.

But in the changing room, that was a whole different story.

Kids are fucking mean.

Really cruel.

And it really did bother me.

And I wasn't popular at school.
