You just wished it to be true because it would have been quite interesting.
I think for me, the big thought is how people can get things wrong.
In 1997, George Robertson, who was Shadow Scottish Secretary, said devolution would kill nationalism stone dead.
Whereas Tam Diehl said that devolution is a motorway to independence without an exit ramp.
Both were proved wrong, but the shape of politics in the UK changed forever.

We now have a Parliament in Scotland, we have a Parliament in Wales, whether you like it or not, it's all changed and everybody backs, everybody publicly backs the idea of these things.
That was absolutely unimaginable before the 1997 election, though in fact a lot of people had supported the idea of devolution, they just hadn't found the right way forward.

And I think that is desperately sad because I think some of our most talented politicians are women.
