I'm not surprised by it at the end of the day.
He's just such a competitor.
He's such a warrior.
And even at a young age when we drafted him, I mean, he was about 5'6 and 135 pounds, but he's always had just an absolute pit bull mentality, competes so hard.
Unfortunately, early in his career here, he got stunned by a bunch of injuries.
And, you know, last year was kind of his coming out party where we let him run with that first unit.
And he had a really good year, a learning curve on, you know, how to round out that offensive side of his game.
And then this year, I mean, he's proven he can be one of the best defensemen in the Western League and the CHL.
And, you know, I think he's going to give himself every opportunity to make that team just knowing the character that he has.
Well, I think as a uh as a whole, I mean I didn't didn't expect to score the way we are scoring, but you know, I know that we we have the the depth to be able to do that, which is obviously some of the recruiting that we did over the the last year was adding American players and obviously the trade with Max Kern.
But to say that I thought we'd be leading the league I I'd probably be lying, but I did know that we would have the depth to be able to put up some numbers.
Yeah, for sure.
I think like the biggest thing over the course of the summer was adding Andrew O'Neal, um, big bodied centerman, plays with a ton of speed and played for the US national team development program.
I mean, he's been off to a great start to the season.
Uh we added Paul Anderson from from Minnesota who scored thirty plus goals for for Sherwood Park last year in the BCHL.
Um, has also been off to a good start for our season here and uh
And then one guy that's injured right now that was playing really well, WHL rookie of the week, Dylan Dean, another Minnesota kid.
Um, you know, he plays the game the right way, plays hard.
Uh he's gonna be a guy that a lot of NHL teams are gonna be attracted to here leading up to the draft this year.
No, you know, we always had high expectations for Ethan.
