Uh certainly not the way I I drew it up, but um yeah, it's been a little bit more of a process than I I probably envisioned at the start, but um you know, we've gotten we've been through a lot of interviews with lots of good candidates, have got down the road with a few and uh you know, to their good fortune they've gotten gotten jobs at uh you know, the NHL level, HL level.

So um happy for those guys and uh

with that there's been just a little bit longer of a search, but uh still very optimistic in the direction we're heading, lots of great candidates and uh I guess selfishly to me I've got to meet a lot of great new people around the game, got to learn a lot about uh different coaches and probably got to learn a lot about our team along the way too, just learning their opinions on the way, you know, they think we play and uh areas of our game they think they would want to improve if they came in.

You know, I think I'm an I'm an open book on that one.

I don't uh I don't have anything, you know, certainly set in stone, but um, you know, just knowing where our group's at

Um I'm really, you know, excited for our team this season.

I think there's um a lot of potential with the group uh heading into this year.

So it's certainly um looking for somebody that does have, you know, probably experience at one of those levels uh potentially or, you know, has a history of winning with where they've been.

Um yeah, and it's just, you know, looking for the right guy to fit the guy we need right now and you know, I've talked to a lot of people about this and I guess at the end of the day if I just wanted to make a hire to make a higher, I c could have done that a long time ago, but uh I don't wanna get three months into it and and be kicking myself just because I rush something and if it has to be a little longer of a process and and take up a little bit more of the summer then that's just the way we're gonna do it.

Yeah, it's been it's certainly been different.

I mean, it's um you know, you're not

I guess as a general manager you

in past years you haven't been sitting there and knowing I mean it'd be naive to think that you couldn't potentially get a phone call to learn that one of your players is deciding to go play in the N C double A because that's just the the new age we're living in and the new realities that we have to deal with.

So it's certainly

um a little different in that aspect.

Um but you know what I continue to preach to our staff and uh you know we just gotta make sure that we're taking care of our program and and doing things the right way here and you know, building relationships with families, making sure that we have a a good development plan for players and

Um, you know, I think all you can do is try to run the best program and make sure that you're making your players better.

And I think that in that way you instill trust, you and you instill loyalty in people and they wanna be a part of what you have going and so far, you know, this year we haven't lost anybody and um, you know, maybe that's just good fortune or maybe it uh speaks to the the work that a lot of our staff have put in here with uh the people that we have here.

Yeah, no, there yeah, there is.

There's guy there's some guys that have decided to to make the change and um, you know, go down south and play and um yeah, I guess it's just the new reality that we're living in and it's um you know, tough fortune for those teams.
