That was the drive always.

With the education, it was a matter of I had felt so diminished when I went through court that I knew I was absolutely going to go in front of that judge again.

And I wanted to show him what kind of a person I am, who I am.

I wasn't going to let him act like I was an uneducated twit because I was naive and listened to my attorney and didn't say anything.

And as a mother, you'll relate to this.

It's something that doesn't, it doesn't leave.

I mean, it's been 30 years since the fire happened and I lost Tony.

And there are still times that I will wake up and it hits me all over again that he's not there, that I'm not going to get to see him.

Even after all this time, it's an ache that will never go away.

They give it to your, whoever's designated to take the baby.

For some women, you know, it goes right into the system and it's placed with foster care.

So I was lucky that I had family there to take him.

And then, of course, I was also scared because I don't get to see them put him in their arms and know that he's okay and that he's with them.

So as soon as I was transferred back to the facility, my brother came over into the visiting room to let me know that they had him and that he was okay.

Absolutely.

So when I came home.

I wanted to be a mom again.

That was, you know.

high up on my list of dreams that I wanted to have one more time so going in and trying to get pregnant and discovering that you know I should have been having pap smears every year that doesn't happen in prison I received one five weeks after I gave birth and that was it so there were a lot of things that I hadn't been checked for I had never had a mammogram when I came home

And here I am, I'm trying to get pregnant.
