Now, you're not even going to reflect it in the official statistics, and they've already been caught hiding the overall casualty numbers, which are well into the 400s, that we know of.
Service members are complaining about the lack of medical care that they've been receiving.
They've been downplaying some of the severity of the injuries that they've received.
And the reason is because they know that this war is disastrously unpopular.
They know it is an absolutely catastrophic mistake at this point.
But they are flailing around because they have no plan.
I mean, Trump, I think, really believed that this would be like, oh, in three days, we'll just, you know, do what we did with Venezuela and I'll be fine and I'll be greeted as a liberator, mission accomplished, et cetera.
Now, here we are months and months into this.
And all he can think to do is, you know, more bombing campaigns and complete insanity and lies.
That's exactly right.
You know, if he was to walk away now, if he had gone forward with the memorandum of understanding, it would have meant acknowledging complete defeat.
You know, Robert Pape describes it as a surrender document.
And that's truly what it is.
So with that direction, he has a certain defeat.
Whereas if he entertains some of these insane options, oh, let's seize Karg Island, let's bomb or nuke Pickaxe Mountain because the conventional weapons wouldn't be sufficient, that somehow maybe this has an outside chance to turn the tables.
And so when greeted with a landscape that's either accept complete defeat with
something like the memo of understanding and an eventual deal or take some insane gamblers risk on some absolute boondoggle that is going to result in catastrophic loss of life, you know, both for Americans and for Iranians.
he'd rather go in that direction because then at least there's some theoretical chance that he can come out with something he can sell as a win.
And as insane as that landscape is to us, when you're looking at this and you're just like, just cut your losses, like that's the best thing you can do at this point, I think he sees it as it's unacceptable to him to accept the defeat that has been rendered on the battlefield.
