And so there is huge anger in society, and so it's not a coincidence that you have Trump having very low approval ratings, but so do the Democratic and Republican parties.
And in this context, the opposition to the establishment's agenda is winning victories, and so it is a confirmation of the dramatic shift in consciousness.
I think
All of that needs to then be translated into actual outcomes.
And this is where, you know, just to explain, my metric of success is not whether I win the election.
Obviously, I have won four elections.
And it was only because I won my first election, first of all.
that we won $15 an hour because at that time the overwhelming majority of the labor leadership was opposed to $15.
They were forced to get on board because of my election victory and because the majority of union members and non-unionized workers were excited about $15 and wanted to
wanted to fight for it, and the labor leadership would have been exposed at that time if they didn't support it.
So in that sense, election victories are absolutely crucial.
But in my view, election victories are not an end in themselves.
It's a vehicle.
Winning an office, in my view, is a vehicle to build mass movements.
And so the concrete questions will be,
some similar questions that were raised when AOC was first elected and the original squad members were elected.
What will you do with that elected office?
And so concretely, the immediate question that will be faced, especially if the Democrats win the House, is will you vote for Hakeem Jeffries or some other genocidal Democrat as the Speaker of the House?
And that concrete question will translate into
