So let's see a practical example.
Today, when you authenticate on any website, you go and uh one of the things you have might have seen is initially people used to give
email addresses, but now they have migrated to phones, phone numbers.
So when you put a phone number in your website, you go and say, Yeah, here is my phone number.
Typically what happens is you get an SMS.
Now the SMS comes to you, you look at the SMS, you copy the SMS, you put it in a chat window.
Oh by the way, I forgot that SMS came in, it's been five minutes, SMS has expired, I asked for it again, it comes in, I put it in, and now you get authenticated.
What that does is yes, it is providing uh authentication, a two-factor authentication, but it is increasing the friction in terms of customer experience.
Also, this SMS OTP.
If it gets to fraudster's hands, which by the way it is happening, it's happening w way more often than you think.
If they get that OTP.
Guess what is happening?
Fraud.
Theft.
You're getting impacted from your account takeovers, basically, right?
And that's really what the problem is in the industry.
SMS OTP hack is a big issue, basically.
SIM swap is another issue where sim cards are being swapped and there are uh there are fraudsters who have sim farms based on which they're doing this hacking, right?
