I drove up from Dallas just a couple hours ago here to Austin.
And it is real.
You know, we had people who were saying like they showed up to their precinct thinking that's where they're supposed to vote.
Turns out that's not the location they're supposed to be at.
It's creating some confusion, you know, and I know there is some concern about that.
I think that there's a tremendous amount of buzz and enthusiasm.
I mean, just the numbers that you guys were talking about in terms of just outperforming the turnout that we've seen in the past, outperforming, you know, a 24 and early voting.
That's all, that's all very real.
And it's true on both sides of the islands to some degree in that there's a lot of people talking in my neighborhood, at least about the Paxton corn and race and just what that represents in terms of a generational changing of the guard.
I mean, almost,
everyone I've talked to thinks Pax is going to walk away with this thing and win, or at the very least be the top vote getter heading into a potential runoff in May.
People are really curious.
I mean, there's a lot of Tallarico curious people I've come to find.
You know, the interesting thing is, and I don't want to tip my thumb on the scale with either Crockett or Tallarico, but there is this thing of creating a permission structure
for people who might be lifelong Republicans, traditional conservative Republicans, even George W. Bush Republicans, creating a permission structure for them to vote Democrat for a day.
And in Tallarico, you can see a path where that's plausible.
It may not be likely or possible, but that conversation can actually happen.
And that's why so many Republicans and people that I talk to who work in Republican politics are very concerned about the prospect of Tallarico being the nominee against someone very flawed like Ken Paxton.
ahead kurt sorry as i say it's like that the financial side of this can't be uh overlooked the amount of money that's been dumped into anti-paxton messaging already by his own party uh is is is almost a record number that we've seen
And those negatives, those still exist.
