I have been following them since Kalshi first began, and I think what they wanted to be made sense, like event contracts, hedge against the weather,
Sure, fine.
But, like, now it's evolved into sports betting.
Like, Kalshi's volume is 90% sports betting.
And I'm like, you know... So when you follow this stuff, the legislation of this stuff, Trump's CFTC is taking a very hands-off approach where he's like, we're just going to let them do whatever they want.
And I just think that when you have people gambling on a platform, you as a government have a responsibility to ensure that those people are not...
endangering themselves.
And so I do worry about the role that prediction markets are playing in our lives, where they do seem to want to enable us, as the CEO of Calci said, to bet on everything, to financialize everything.
I feel like that's stepping over a line.
It's crossing a line that shouldn't be crossed.
