It's a little more calm.
It's Eeyore.
And it's not a bad – I think, like, this phase gets such a bad rap.
There's nothing that's bad about this phase.
However, if you're expecting to be super peppy and high energy and wanting to go on dates and all these things, and then this phase is not meeting your expectations because you didn't realize that this is a phase of going a little bit more inward, being a little calmer, maybe wanting to use some more time to yourself, having an increased emotional energy –
then that's when we get confused and frustrated and all these things.
But if you can lean into like, okay, in this phase, like I am going to maybe go inward a little more.
I am gonna have a little bit more emotional activity, but this is actually such a gift in this phase.
A lot of people think of,
your period as the time that you're like the most moody and all these things but our luteal phase is actually this time where when we're getting all of these emotions that are coming up you're getting this increase in irritation all these things it's like this opportunity where your brain is kind of handing you like hey here's all the crap that we've kind of swept under the rug for the last few weeks like let's look at it let's go through it let's talk about it
and when we're just shoving it back under the rug and trying to like pretend none of it exists, then it kind of all overflows and boils over.
Whereas when we enter our menstrual phase, this is supposed to be like the season of winter.
It's supposed to be the cleaning of a slate, the release and reset before a spring that is about to come.
But in the fall, we're not
purging everything we're not going through all the things and allowing these things to flow through us then when we get to winter we're supposed to be wiping the slate clean releasing letting go that doesn't happen because we're you know getting so we're just letting everything boil over and so the luteal phase like yes you're going to be a little more tired yes your emotional energy is going to be up but like that's okay i mean you can have grace for that and like expect it and prepare for it it's not this terrible thing that's happening it's like actually like kind of cool it's kind of enjoyable it gives you time to like chill out a little bit
It is very often close to ovulation.
For a lot of women, they actually have very high sex drive in the menstrual phase.
Not really sure why that is.
But most of the time it's like leading up to ovulation.
So it's maybe that week period.
