If you go back to the draft Declaration of Independence by Jefferson, he decried.
the importation of slaves and they laid institutions to ban, eventually ban slaves imported to the United States.
And there were a lot of, there was debate between the Northern colonies and Southern colonies.
They had to come to the three-fifths compromise, which would ultimately undermine the power of the Southern colonies.
and so what i'm trying to say is the principles the universal principles of individual rights that were established ultimately they knew philosophically culturally this would undermine slavery eventually it was just the reality of political power that if you were internally divided between the northern colonies and southern colonies then the imperialist powers of europe would be very predatory would pull us apart and they you know whether it's the spanish or the french or
