You will hear a lot of financial advisors say put discretionary income if you've got it.

You've got extra money into superannuation as voluntary contributions.

Whereas someone in the financial independence community would go, you're insane.

You're tying that money up for decades.

Don't do that.

That's it over here.

So both of them are right.

Both of those things can work.

So which one is right if they're completely polar opposites?

That depends on you.

That depends on your goals.

So whenever you read something, you will be able to find the alternative opinion somewhere.

It is definitely worth looking for people who

independent, qualified preferably.

And when I say independent, they're not trying to sell you a financial product.

You know, they're not saying, hey, get into property investing.

And hey, look at this.

I've got this fantastic property investment opportunity for you over here.

But thinking critically about your source and then looking for the alternatives and really bringing it down to what works for you, I think is important.

if not essential, really.
