And there will be people that it's perfect for, but then there's going to be a whole heap of people that, hey, you could have done a lot better if you just thought about it.
And there's stuff to do with money, I think, that people get really wrapped up about there's a right or wrong answer.
There are only a few absolute right or wrongs with money, like very few, like two or three at most.
Most of it is actually about your personality, your risk profile and what your priorities are, and no one can tell you that.
Only you know that, right?
And so this is an argument for you needing to think about this stuff because otherwise you pick up a recipe and you go, well, I'll just follow this, you know.
It's like when you think about people's, what they eat, your diet.
And I don't mean that in the sense of losing weight diet.
I mean what you eat.
Some people react badly to gluten.
Some people react badly to dairy.
Some people don't like meat.
There is no blanket rule and you have to look at what works for you and adjust it accordingly.
And if you just pick up every book or read every article or listen to a podcast like this and go, well, I'm going to do exactly what they say without having to think about how it fits for you, then it's quite risky because they might have made an assumption that is incorrect for you.
And this is, I guess, my engineering background coming through.
Most of what goes wrong is because people make terrible assumptions.
They poorly scope what they're doing.
They think, oh, well, it must be this when it's not that thing at all, you know.
And superannuation is a classic one for this.
Everyone says, well, everyone, I'm going to use that very blanket term.
