You know, your money makes more money and then it just keeps going.

And I was amazed.

And remember back then, that was like the early 90s, which will give you a bit of an idea of my age.

Interest rates were astonishingly high.

You know, like mortgages in the late 80s were 15% plus.

It would be like buying a house on a credit card, right?

So, you know, the interest we're talking about is much higher than it was compared to today's rates.

And, of course, I had a few calculations with that and I was blown away.

That was it.

I was hooked.

And so, yeah, from 10 really it started.

And then I just got interested in earning as much as I could through high school.

And then when I got to university, I got interested more in investing myself and started investing when I was 19.

And so I just kept going with that.

I bought property to start with, bought a few properties and then got into shares.

And then one day when I was finishing up work because I was having my first child, we were working out whether I needed to go back to work.

And I went, oh, look at that.

I've got enough money to cover our living costs from my shares and my properties.

Wow, that's pretty cool.

I don't think I had deliberately tried to get to a certain amount.
