So as I just shared with you, I I have uh co-created a school and we have a play-based learning school and so we do a lot of our learning through play, you know, which we know the research and science talks about how much that impacts children when they learn through play.
Um, and also I think in my work over the years working with families, you know, I talk about players a lot, as you said, as a form of connection.
So particularly when we're feeling disconnected from our kids.
play is a beautiful way to create that at uh attunement and that attachment.
And also play is the way that children process what life is going uh what's going on.
It's how they process trauma, you know, and I often used to say to parents, if you want to understand what's going on in a child's world, watch them play.
Because you will see, particularly if kids are carrying big stories or there's trauma, they will play out
whatever they need to process because it's a safer way to do it.
They through the play they can, you know, lean into themes and things that they probably can't through words and, you know, obviously that a lot of children don't have the words to articulate what it is.
So play is just, you know, and a big shout out to all the play therapists out there because you guys are just mmm.
I just love play therapy for children always.
Um so play has so many different roles, you know, when I look at it through that kid's lens of just a attachment and connection and also learning and also processing life, all those kind of things.
And we kind of know and accept that about kids, don't we, right?
And then what breaks my heart a little bit is as they become kinda tweens and teenagers, they kinda stop playing and our systems don't support that as well.
Like so we don't
give kids opportunities to play as much at recess.
I mean, I just always think there should be Lego out there for 15 year olds to play with and all the other things that they teens cause they need to play as well.
So now talk to me about play and adults because I think, you know, we a lot of people who are adults are thinking, oh, just be more playful, be a bit silly, but it's actually not that, is it?
Like talk to me about play in the context of adults.
So, yeah.
