Likewise, you have that same issue when you talk to other security groups at the port and the airport.
As you know, my background in dealing with labor, if one group has it and they feel that they don't have the same benefit as another, they're going to be asking for it as well, too.
And again, they have to work to get that day's pay, where there's another group that's getting it without having to work.
And then you can also extend that to, it also goes to disparity, to other job
job groups, like janitorial, transportation, parking.
Again, these are all living wage contracts that don't get paid holidays.
And we did a survey.
We did a survey of other local counties, and Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, Orange.
From our research, none of them pay for holidays for time not worked.
And that's important because in this realm, we pay a loaded rate.
So for each security guard hour, we're paying a company like $30 for that because that includes the salary of that employee as well as profit and overhead.
So that's another consideration.
I'm just pointing this stuff out for consideration for the board.
But I have an issue.
And I support getting these people paid for these three days.
It's just like the right thing to do to somehow make that happen.
But I agree with what Kevin says.
It's kind of hard philosophically
to pay somebody for not working when you're asking other people to work to get paid.
So it's complicated.
