So just asking you to consider that process.
No, I'm discussed.
I'm in for some motions.
Yeah, I was thinking this was a motion to direct, which is what I would like to do.
Thank you for recognizing me.
And the board may recall back in 2022, we had a major living wage rewrite
And there was two major things that came out of it that's relevant to today's discussion.
The first one is you had a higher salary rate that you started security guards at than you had during any other living wage non-security jobs there.
And then the second thing that you did at that time is you required 40 hours of PTO for living wage
contracts and and that was in part of the discussion back then as you may recall had to deal with you know them being able to uh sick holiday attended a children's event and so it was 40 hours per year that is required for any living wage contract the other thing i i do want to point out here is and
Mr. Myers indicated that there's different levels of disparity that could happen by doing just this one item.
Because what's being requested here is just for one contract, and that's for security guards that are at this building, the courthouse, parks, and libraries.
Now, most of the time when there's a holiday,
that there's a reduced staff.
So this building, we don't go down to zero staff, but it's heavily reduced.
So on a holiday when we normally have eight folks, we go down to two.
So there are some security guards that do work in these buildings, but it is not the full complement.
So now you will have one level of disparity is you may have some people sitting home and getting paid a day's pay, and then some people working.
to get the days paid.
They would get time and a half, but they're not getting the benefit of that day off.
