Just this is repetition over and over.

So the bigger issue is that the decisions around these funds are being made at a level that's removed from the day-to-day realities of addiction and recovery.

That's not a criticism.

It's just reality.

Unless we're on the ground working with individuals every day, it's really impossible to fully see where these funds belong.

what they're supposed to be dealing with.

And so with these gaps every day, we see people come out of treatment with nothing, no money, no resources, no real way to get started.

So we see individuals fall through the cracks.

It's not that they don't want help, but the system just isn't set up for them.

So here's what I'm asking.

Not just funding decisions, but a process, a formal, intentional process where the county administration engages directly with the full recovery community, providers, peer organizations, outreach teams, housing programs, the people doing the work every single day, organizations that we set up like CRT or Community Solutions or

We're provider solutions council, a process where we can sit down together, identify the real gaps, align the funding and actual need, not just assumed need.

Right now, without the connection, we're risking building a system that looks complete on paper but leaves critical holes in practice.

These holes cost lives.

Commissioners, we have the ability to bridge that gap.

You can direct, recommend, or require that the county staff engage with stakeholders before finalizing funding strategies.

You can ensure that the voices of those on the front lines are not just heard, but integrated into the decision-making process.

This is not about any one organization.

It's about building a system where we can all work together.
