fun for a guy that they're going to try to do their best to cut the walk right on and develop and uh braxton garrett's also a really sneaky one he was a name that i was talking to some other organizations they were they were pretty on and he's really cheap from uh from an arbitration standpoint and what he's owed i know he's off tommy john but uh yeah they made some sharp moves and uh i'm happy with how the how the roster looks and i imagine jet horse maybe still sleeping pretty happy that they made a bunch of moves
Yeah, fascinating pitcher.
I mean, he made some pretty dramatic mix changes year over year.
So last year with the Angels, he allowed like a 10% barrel rate well above league average.
It's kind of a tough thing to have in the back of your bullpen when one in every 10 balls he puts in play have a really good potential to be a home run or extra base hits.
This season, he cut that back to 5%, which is below league average.
He did it primarily by adding a sinker.
He kind of cut back in the short cutter he was throwing.
But the bread and butter of his mix is a really hard four-seam fastball, and then he has this really nice sweeper up at 85.
It sometimes touches 87.
You'll see it.
It's like a weird Frisbee-like pitch.
A lot of guys in the Cubs organization throw a sweeper, but I think Zephyr Johns in particular just has a bunch of lateral movement for how hard it's thrown.
It's a really fascinating pitch.
