I think that the Cubs are very conscious.
They have a very good defense around them.
You saw this with Peterson.
Holmes is kind of like the singularity of that, so to speak, where you're taking the guy who can generate 60% ground balls and you're rolling with him.
And I imagine that any time he pitches will be a day.
Swanson and Horner have a ton of balls to field.
Same with Bregman at third base, whoever's playing third.
But yeah, I think Holmes to me right now is the guy that might actually project
on an inning-to-inning basis as the best starter on the team.
I mean, anytime he's on the mound, he's... I mean, I think each of the last four seasons, I'm bringing...
excuse me, bringing in some reliever seasons here.
The Mets obviously converted him to a starter last season.
But anytime he's on the mound, his ERA is usually in the low threes.
He's not a guy who ends up with anything around a 4 ERA, 4-5 ERA.
He's well in the 3-3, 3-5s when he pitches.
It's really just a matter of keeping him on the mound.
I'm obviously going to defer to the Cubs and having confidence in that.
