So I think that's really what this deadline brought to the Cubs, is options.
You have options from a rotation standpoint, you have options from a bullpen standpoint, and I think Council does really well when he has more cards to play with.
Yeah, I'm not sure on a specific timetable.
I believe he recently threw in a game from a rehab standpoint.
So I imagine that's a pretty quick turnaround in terms of getting him back up to the majors.
Maybe they send him back to Triple A and he makes another rehab.
I'm not entirely sure on that.
We'll see in the coming days what the exact plan is.
I'm sure someone will ask counsel on his projected start date.
But, yeah, the ground ball rate is really the key with him.
You know, well more than David Peterson, well more than anybody in the rotation.
When he's on, he's averaging like 65%, which is well above the major league average.
Specifically the lefties, too.
He generates a ton of ground balls.
It's primarily because of the situation.
sinker um he's a really high release point so you'll notice when he throws like his arm angle is a little high but despite that he's able to get a bunch of drop on the sinker and i think i was talking to cliff floyd yesterday we did a little breakdown on it and cliff was talking about how that just creates like a weird look for a hitter where out of hand you kind of think anything he's throwing is in the zone but given how much depth he's able to kill on that sinker it kind of just ends up below the zone or at the bottom of the zone
So that hitter mindset is always swing, swing, swing, but constantly when you make contact, it's on the ground.
So this is why the striker rate's not crazy high.
He can miss fast.
