Professor Arada isn't the only black person who's been criticised this year.
I mean, I've reported on two massive stories.
Miss Anne Harriman, who was the former chair of the South Bank, who was constantly criticised for his media posts.
And then you also had Helen Cammock, who was a Turner Prize winning artist, who created a work for the National Portrait Gallery, which criticised Winston Churchill, which created a massive row on the right.
And these undertones were part of that reporting as well.
So I think for some people in the right wing media, this is like the perfect storm of a story.
It couldn't be any better for them because it seems to show we are right.
We are correct.
This is all just a big sham.
These black professors who were put into these positions aren't really worthy.
And look, we told you so.
It doesn't feel great.
I mean, I think it's sometimes on the left and liberal media, we are following the lead of our right-wing colleagues who are totally leading in this area.
Like the whole story has put me in a very uncomfortable position because I didn't get into journalism to try and expose black professors.
And I know that just from reading the papers every day, the way that black people are reported on in this country is not the same as white equivalents.
It just isn't.
And I know that after working in the media for 15 years.
It's a really sad story, this, I think.
And the glee with which some people are kind of receiving it, I think, is really off.
And it's really telling and exposes them and their motives.
