Smith has operated under several names and has been in several bands since the 90s, and many of them kind of traverse this space between psychedelic and folk music.
It can be very broody and dense, like like like the thick of the woods come to life, you know?
Um but this new album is called Half-Light Unfolding, and it paints with a much more limited palette.
The songs are primarily based around acoustic guitar and piano, and the results are much more austere.
You know what it kinda sounds like to me?
It's like court music for a cosy fantasy film.
