Okay.

I grew up in an atheist.

I was the only atheist house on the block.

My dad was a staunch atheist.

He's actually not anymore.

He's now like agnostic.

Like he doesn't know.

But so when I went into the rooms and I was hearing a lot of prayer and God and you turn your life and your will over to God, that freaked me out at the beginning.

Now I do believe in a higher power and I pray and meditate and all of that.

But so AA is a, I would say it's a spiritual program and it's a design for living.

And it's not just AA, there's a program for like everyone.

There's

you know, shopping anonymous.

There's sex and love anonymous.

There's gambling.

There's Al-Anon, which is if you have a friend or a family member who suffers from addiction, that affects you, you know, and pretty much everyone knows someone who's got it and it's hard.

So there's a, there's a 12 step program for them, but essentially it's a design for living.

And I would say that it's,

It teaches you how to live and function without, in my case, drinking or using.

So that involves a lot of different principles like surrendering, acceptance.
