Well, there is one organisation that keeps track.
The Trussell Trust, yes.
People who collect food from the Trussell Trust food banks need a voucher to do that.
And the voucher could be issued by various people, including the police, the Citizens Advice Bureau, health visitors, doctors and others.
Job centres also refer people to food banks, which didn't happen under the previous government, although they're only responsible for 2 or 3% of all referrals.
Adrian Curtis from the Trussell Trust believes there is one leading explanation for why those vouchers are being handed out.
