Yes, so very, very true.

I may have shared with you that my husband and I grew up with very, very different parents, so very different money stories.

And just noticing that and understanding each other's, you know, you prefaced it by saying parents.

how your husband grew up poor.

And so there is a level of understanding necessary to help ease whatever friction may come up when you're sharing a life with someone with, you know, certainly a different money background, if nothing else.

It's a great question.

I think that's one variable.

You know, there's two things people say, right?

That money is one of the greatest conflict or tension points in relationships and that people are more likely to discuss their sex life than to discuss money.

So when you put the two together, you know, ideally when one is dating and considering sharing a life,

want to sit down and have a conversation.

You know, do you carry credit card debt?

Do you have student loan debt?

How do you think about money?

How do you spend?

But that's the last thing you want to talk about, right?

It's just not a comfortable conversation.

So it's not surprising that communication skills around money are poor because they're not practiced.

We don't see our parents practicing.
