Whilst he was in Berlin in the 70s, David Bowie spent a lot of time with punks and transvestites such as Romeo Hogg.

And it's so galling because she's not a transvestite, she's a trans woman.

And she had such a huge impact.

There was a whole scene around her.

She sold millions of records in her own right.

So she's very, very crucial.

And Charlie wants to write a PhD on Romy Haag.

And that's her excuse for going to Berlin, not just because she meets this random dude at a party and thinks, why not?

And all the way through the book, she's talking about this wretched PhD and how she's got to get on with the PhD.

And she's got a meeting tomorrow for the PhD.

And nobody really believes her.

And like a lot of

memoirs of famously beautiful transgender women.

A lot of it is nonsense, but it's very entertaining.

It's like 300 pages of her saying, everybody was coming to my club and I said, no, it's too busy.
